Such a precious child, still so desperately missed.
What destiny has given us, we must accept,Yet our grief returns without warning. It is rarely cemeteries, or news of other deaths which opens the wound,But the place of great beauty,Where once we were, however briefly,Happy with such a beautiful child. Those times are just a memory now,The dreams we had forsaken,Abandoned in hopelessness,And this barren life we have, we endure,Believing time will help to heal us,Yet with time merely teaches,That even after years, grief brings a pain,As terrible almost, as that first rending.Death, when love has been so strong,Can make you feel entirely lost -Or so it does with us.Time does not heal,It makes a half stitched scar,That can be broken,Leaving grief as whole,As when it was in its first hour.
